Future Leaders Academy Inc. (“FLA”) is committed to protecting the privacy, safety, and well-being of children participating in our educational experiences. We believe families, schools, educators, and community partners deserve transparency regarding how student information is collected, used, and protected.

This Children’s Privacy & COPPA Compliance Policy explains how FLA complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and outlines our commitment to responsible, age-appropriate educational practices.


2. Scope of Application

This policy applies to students, parents, schools, educators, nonprofits, churches, after-school programs, and community organizations participating in Future Leaders Academy educational experiences, including both virtual and in-person programming.

Future Leaders Academy primarily serves elementary-aged learners and maintains privacy safeguards aligned with COPPA protections for children under the age of 13.


3. Information We Collect

Future Leaders Academy only collects limited information necessary to support educational participation and program delivery. Information collected may include:

First name or school-assigned username

Grade level

School, classroom, or educator identifiers

Student-created work, including written responses, creative projects, reflection journals, artwork, or educational submissions

Voice or video submissions voluntarily provided for educational activities or projects

Basic educational participation information, including attendance, completed activities, engagement milestones, and achievement recognition

Future Leaders Academy does not require or intentionally collect:

Student last names for public display

Home addresses

Personal phone numbers

Personal student email addresses

Geolocation tracking information

Commercial advertising profiles


4. How Information Is Used

Student information is used exclusively for educational and programmatic purposes, including:

Facilitating educational experiences

Supporting literacy, leadership, communication, and student growth

Monitoring student progress and engagement

Providing achievement recognition, certificates, and participation milestones

Supporting communication between families, educators, mentors, and program facilitators

Improving educational delivery and student experiences

Future Leaders Academy does not use student information for commercial advertising, behavioral marketing, or the sale of student data.


5. Parental Consent & Participation

For school-based or organizational implementations, participating schools, educators, or authorized program partners may obtain and manage parental consent as permitted under applicable educational privacy regulations.

For direct family enrollments, parents or legal guardians provide consent during registration and participation in Future Leaders Academy experiences.

Future Leaders Academy encourages all participating organizations and families to review student privacy practices and maintain open communication regarding student participation.


6. Data Protection & Security

Future Leaders Academy implements reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect student information and maintain secure educational environments. Security practices may include:

Encrypted data storage

Secure communication protocols

Role-based access controls

Internal monitoring and administrative safeguards

Restricted access to authorized personnel and approved service providers only

We continually review operational practices to help maintain responsible data protection standards.


7. Data Retention & Deletion

Student information is retained only for the period reasonably necessary to support educational participation, program operations, or legal compliance requirements.

Upon program completion, withdrawal, or verified written request from a parent, guardian, or authorized educational organization, Future Leaders Academy will take reasonable steps to securely delete identifiable student information where applicable.


8. Third-Party Service Providers

Future Leaders Academy may partner with carefully selected third-party platforms and service providers to support educational delivery, communication, hosting, scheduling, analytics, or operational infrastructure.

All approved providers are expected to:

Use information only within the scope of services provided

Future Leaders Academy does not sell student information to third parties.


9. Age-Appropriate Educational Design

Future Leaders Academy designs its experiences to be developmentally appropriate for elementary-aged learners. Educational activities are intended to encourage literacy engagement, creativity, reflection, communication, confidence, and positive leadership development within supportive learning environments.

Technology used within the program is intended to support educational engagement and does not replace educator, parent, mentor, or family involvement.

Request deletion of identifiable student information

Withdraw consent for future participation where applicable
